Based on your responses, it's a good idea to get tested at a clinic

We recommend that you go to a GP or sexual health clinic for a sexual health check. As STIs often don’t have symptoms it’s very important to get tested and treated.

If you have any of the following symptoms, we strongly recommend that you go to a GP or sexual health clinic because delaying treatment may have serious health consequences.

  • An unusual vaginal discharge
  • A discharge from your penis
  • Pain, burning or feeling uncomfortable when you pass urine
  • Genital sores or lumps
  • Testicular or lower abdominal pain
  • Pelvic pain when you have sex
  • Bleeding after sex or bleeding between periods
  • If you think you might be pregnant

Chlamydia and gonorrhoea are usually easily treated with antibiotics.

If you can’t go to a GP or sexual health clinic, and choose to use Webtest, we recommend you use a pathology form for the fastest results.

Pathology collection centre

This is the fastest way to get your results.

Download or receive (email/post) a pathology form and take to your nearest centre.

You can go to any QML Pathology, Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology (SNP), Mater Pathology or public hospital pathology (Pathology Queensland) collection centre.

Read more information about visiting a pathology collection centre.

Home sample kit

Collect your sample and return using the reply-paid envelope provided.

Due to the unavailability of a component within the Home Sample Kits, we have no choice but to suspend this method of testing until the supply issues have been resolved. Pathology Collection Centres are the only option available to you at this time.

It is faster and better for you to use a pathology form so please think about whether you need to use a home sample kit or can go to a pathology collection centre. If you change your mind about using Webtest you cannot return your kit for us to send to someone else.
